It is not uncommon for a lot of users to use weak passwords simply because they are much easier to remember or to use scripts, templates and plugins which aren't updated for a long time. It restricts the access which a script has only to its own folder, so in the event that one of your sites is compromised, the attacker will see its content, but will not be able to see any other content in your account, so the damage will be minimal. Of course, using JailHost won't substitute the security measures you need to take by keeping your scripts up-to-date and using long and complex passwords, still it will enable you to restrict the damage to one site only.
JailHost in Shared Website Hosting
In case you host your Internet sites within a shared website hosting account from our firm, you can protect them using the JailHost option with just a couple of clicks inside your Hepsia Control Panel. The option is accessible with all plans and can be enabled for each folder because the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have separate folders, so files for different sites never get mixed up like it often happens with other Control Panels. We haven't activated JailHost by default as you might use scripts that need access to folders outside the primary website folder and this option may interfere with their correct operation, but protecting all other folders is very easy. In case a secured site gets hacked for some reason, we'll be able to recover it in a short time since we will have multiple daily backup copies of your entire account and you will even be able to browse the available backups from Hepsia.
JailHost in Semi-dedicated Hosting
If you have a semi-dedicated hosting account, you will be able to start JailHost with a few clicks from your Hepsia Control Panel because we've included this feature in all of our semi-dedicated plans. It isn't active by default because you might use an application that requires access to other folders inside the account and JailHost could potentially cause problems, yet you can easily secure all other sites by isolating them from one another. This will be quite easy because in Hepsia all domains and subdomains have separate folders. In comparison, many other Control Panels keep the content of multiple Internet sites in subfolders under a primary domain, so a single hacked site there will mean that all of them will be hacked. With Hepsia, only one site can get damaged and even if this happens, we can quickly recover it via the multiple daily backup copies that we will keep, meaning that you can go ahead and update it afterwards to protect it from potential intrusions.
